The Cov-MS peptide standard for mass spectrometry detection and absolute quantification of SARS-CoV-2 proteins was co-developed by PolyQuant and University of Ghent (Van Puyvelde et al., 2020: Cov-MS: a community-based template assay for clinical MS-based protein detection in SARS-CoV-2 patients).

Van Puyvelde et al., advance their Cov-MS test by adding of SISCAPA technology to enrich proteotypic peptides of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid (N) protein from trypsin-digested patient samples (nasopharyngeal swabs, saliva, and plasma) and has increased sensitivity (comparable to qPCR cycle of 30-31).
